"Tiny Talk": Infant Sign Language

Berger Health System's Maternity Services is the first hospital in Central Ohio to offer this class!

"Tiny Talk" is an introductory class to baby sign language. Babies are able to "talk" before they can form their words. Babies use their hands every day--think about how quickly they learn bye-bye. Your baby has something to tell you long before they learn to say the words. In this "Tiny Talk" class, you will learn what basic sign language skills to use with your baby. Parents can start signing to their babies around 6 to 7 months of age, and their babies will start signing back around 8 to 9 months of age or beyond. It is never too late to start signing with your child! You will see, hear, and practice the beginning instructions about infant sign language. The "Tiny Talk" class is intended for parents, grandparents, or caregivers who want to learn the basics of infant sign language. Because you need to learn the skills first, we suggest you attend "Tiny Talk" without your baby. Additional classes may be offered to include both parent and baby. Classes are held on Wednesdays, 6:00 to 8:00p.m.
Session 1: March 28
Session 2: June 27
Session 3: October 3
Session 4: November 28
Cost: $15.00 per family
The cost includes your take home copy of Sign With Your Baby by author Dr. Joseph Garcia. Registration deadline is two weeks prior to start of the class.
